About this organisation
For more than 25 years, Smile Foundation has been transforming the lives of children across South Africa by providing access to life-changing reconstructive surgery and the care they need to heal, grow and thrive.
Working alongside leading public hospitals and specialist medical teams, the Foundation supports children with conditions such as cleft lip and palate, severe burns, facial paralysis, hand abnormalities and other reconstructive challenges. Beyond surgery, Smile Foundation provides holistic support through counselling, speech therapy and parent support programmes, ensuring every child has the best possible chance at a brighter future.
In 2025 alone, more than 500 children received life-changing surgery and psychosocial support. The Foundation also expanded its national reach through new hospital partnerships, specialised Smile Weeks and Smile Weekends, and innovative fundraising initiatives that continue to improve access to quality healthcare for children across South Africa.
