About this organisation
Kitty and Puppy Haven is a pro-life animal sanctuary founded in 2000, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming neglected, abused and abandoned animals.
Many of their rescue cases originate from veterinary practices, low-income communities, other welfare organisations working in townships and informal settlements, as well as emergency situations. While rescue and rehabilitation remain a priority, the organisation also places strong emphasis on educating communities about responsible animal care.
They are committed to a no-euthanasia approach for animals that can be treated and go on to live healthy, pain-free lives. As many animals come from disadvantaged backgrounds, they often require extensive veterinary treatment. Each animal receives full standard care, including vaccinations, deworming, flea control and sterilisation.
Their ongoing work is supported by significant veterinary care, with monthly costs averaging between R40,000 and R50,000.
